Place: >Renaissance Tower Hotel Zurich, Switzerland
Time: Wednesday, 27 Sept 2017, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., from 6 p.m. onwards, get-together with buffet

Topic: Holistic quality assurance in translation management: from guiding principle to controlling

Workshop and networking on the day before the LQA Symposium 2017 in Zurich

This time, the main focus of the Best Practices Zurich 2017 is on the best way of integrating the QA module into the translation landscape. Different approaches to ensuring QA in the process (before, during and after translation) will be presented and discussed in relation to timing, interface logic and resource management. In addition, the participants will have the opportunity to get to know the system components in practical examples and to design a suitable QA workflow based on their own requirements. The objective is not just to present procedural aspects of quality assurance, but also critical and time-sensitive aspects, and to show how the introduction of meaningful performance indicators in the quality assurance of translations can gradually be implemented in one’s own translation environment.

  • Sharing of know-how and experiences prior to the LQA Symposium on the following day

Participants will have the opportunity to design their own QA module for their existing translation landscape or to further develop current approaches with myproof®.

The myproof® team will host the workshop and will be available at the venue to answer any questions. The event is hosted and sponsored by myproof®.

myproof® is a workflow system for evaluating and correcting translations. Its system components allow proofreaders and quality managers to apply a multi-dimensional checking concept. Text-related error categories and the output of key performance indicators (KPIs) constitute two main elements of the system.

LQA Best Practices 2017 Zurich will take place on the day before the LQA Symposium 2017 Zurich.
